Where Is He Now?

 A sliding door caused bulbs to fail

And all the wiring’s wrong

This dim life’s no longer mine

The other side, that sliding door

No longer has lights to shine.

Electricity’s gone

No switches on

There is no song

Contours of the map are wrong

Need to flee

To be free

But escape incarcerates

So friends are strangers and strangers friends

Is heart still pumping, and

And will my cuts still bleed?

 Roads are closed

And signpost’s down

The flood has risen

And hope has drowned.

Damaged goods at the factory

No buyers for the failed

Are stored out back behind the shed

Wait silently for time to pass

Flawed criminals in jail

Yet perhaps a charity may come

To take flawed heaters to cold poor.

But then it's my wiring's come undone,

Is charity’s feet beating to my door?

I have sucked from the devil’s nipple

That milk’s an endless well

The more is sucked the more required

His breast a pregnant swell

Yet no hunger can it heal.

So if heart still beats and blood still flows 

Why is it that I cannot feel?
