THE SADDEST SONG

– FOR VERONICA GEURIN

I’ve often wondered                 ‘bout my place in this
Should I cry out                       Or should I kiss
I’ve never known                     What it is to die
But now I feel                          That I know why

There are those                       Whose life I feel
But I am one                            Who cannot heal
So I sit back                            And say how sad
While others fight                    No meaning lack

NOW YOU ARE GONE            BUT WHAT THE HELL
WHAT DID YOU CHANGE      THAT WENT SO WELL
BUT YOUR SMALL CHANGE  AND COME WHAT MAY
ALLOWS THE SUN                 TO RISE TODAY

And then saddest fate of all    Cut down in prime
While we who sit                     And watch the time
And upside down                     the music rings
As right side up,                      our material things

So should I crave                    a life that shines
Or should I course                   the path that sings
And when I die                        What will I say
That I tried hard                       For another way

NOW YOU ARE GONE            BUT WHAT THE HELL
WHAT DID YOU CHANGE      THAT WENT SO WELL
BUT YOUR SMALL CHANGE  AND COME WHAT MAY
ALLOWS THE SUN                 TO RISE TODAY

Or will I follow,                         Too late I sing
A song that cries                     no material things
A difference makes                 Those who stand and fight
After the fact                            We feel the sight

So if I follow,                            a life that shines
Do I own the courage              that must be mine
It makes far cry,                      for to be brave
It takes far less,                       to be a slave

NOW YOU ARE GONE            BUT WHAT THE HELL
WHAT DID YOU CHANGE      THAT WENT SO WELL
BUT YOUR SMALL CHANGE  AND COME WHAT MAY
ALLOWS THE SUN                 TO RISE TODAY

So when I see,                        someone who cares,
I think how brave                     But I only stare.

NOW YOU ARE GONE            BUT WHAT THE HELL
WHAT DID YOU CHANGE      THAT WENT SO WELL
BUT YOUR SMALL CHANGE  AND COME WHAT MAY
ALLOWS THE SUN                 TO RISE TODAY

So when I see,                        someone who cares,
I think how brave                     But I only stare.

NOW YOU ARE GONE            BUT WHAT THE HELL
WHAT DID YOU CHANGE      THAT WENT SO WELL
BUT YOUR SMALL CHANGE  AND COME WHAT MAY
ALLOWS THE SUN                 TO RISE TODAY

Pomeranian War Pig (The Heavy Metal Doggie)

(Apologies to Black Sabbath)

Pomeranian dog thinks big

Heart of a lion and legs of a war pig

With eyes of fire and claws of steel

He’s lookin’ for his next

Supersized meal

Pomeranian dog stands tall

He will run through thick brick walls

Pomeranian’s lethal blows

There’s only one killer Oreo

Pointy ears and a tail so fluffy

Oreo’s one hell of a puppy

He comes walking down the street

Concrete pounds from four furry big feet

Pigs might fly, but this is true

Stay away or he’ll “double tap” you

So keep your distance from his door

Or Oreo will rig you with C4

 (Reprise)

Pomeranian dog thinks big

Heart of a lion and legs of a war pig

With eyes of fire and claws of steel

He’s lookin’ for his next

Supersized meal

(Thanks for listening!)
